Work in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia Work Visa from Pakistan

The largest single employer of Pakistani workers overseas — construction, oil and gas, engineering, healthcare and retail, on employer-sponsored contracts.

  • VerificationEmployer & contract attestation

Overview — working in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has employed more Pakistani workers than any other country for four decades, and the pipeline has changed shape rather than slowed. Giga-projects, expansion in transport and logistics, a growing healthcare sector and continued demand across oil, gas and petrochemicals keep skilled trades and engineers in demand, while hospitality and retail have grown with tourism. Every legitimate route runs the same way: a Saudi employer holds a visa quota, issues a demand letter and a contract, the paperwork is attested, and the file is registered with the Protector of Emigrants in Pakistan before you can lawfully depart for employment. If any step is skipped or any document is arranged rather than earned, you are not being recruited — you are being set up.

Recruitment process for Saudi Arabia

Application & profile screening

We assess your trade, experience and documents against live employer requirements before anything is submitted.

Document review

Passport, certificates and experience letters checked and, where needed, sent for attestation before the employer ever sees them.

Employer selection

Your profile is submitted to employers with an actual quota and an actual vacancy, and we follow it up.

Trade test / interview

Practical trade tests or interviews arranged as the employer requires, in person or online.

Offer letter & contract

The offer and contract are explained to you clause by clause — salary, hours, overtime, accommodation, leave, ticket — before you sign anything.

Work permit processing

The employer processes the visa authorisation and quota approval at their end in the destination.

Visa processing & attestation

Documents attested and the visa stamped through the embassy's authorised channel.

Medical examination

Fitness certification through an approved medical centre.

Protector clearance

The file is registered and cleared with the Protector of Emigrants — a legal requirement, not an optional formality.

Travel & pre-departure briefing

Ticketing, briefing and what to expect on arrival and at the employer's site.

Processing information

A Saudi work visa is a sequence of steps controlled by different parties, and each one has its own clock. Employer selection can happen in days or take months depending on live demand for your trade. Once an offer is issued, attestation, embassy stamping, medical and protector clearance typically run in parallel where possible. Quota availability at the employer's end and seasonal volumes at the embassy are the two variables no consultant controls.

General guidance only. Timelines depend on the employer, the destination's authorities and your own documents. We do not promise dates and we do not guarantee selection — any consultant who does is selling you something else.

Employee benefits

Accommodation

Provided by many employers for site and labour roles, either as housing or an allowance. Standards vary widely between contracts.

Transportation

Company transport to and from the workplace is common for site-based roles; allowances apply for others.

Medical insurance

Employers are generally required to provide health cover for their workers under the destination's rules.

Annual leave

Paid leave in line with the destination's labour law and your contract terms.

Return ticket

Frequently provided at the start of the contract and at leave or completion, depending on the agreement.

Overtime

Where the contract provides for it, at the rate stated in that contract.

Benefits depend entirely on the employer and the signed contract. Read what you sign — we will read it with you.

Saudi Arabia work visa — frequently asked questions

Do I need to pay for the visa myself?

On a properly structured employer-sponsored offer, the visa and recruitment costs sit with the employer. Sky Heights charges a service fee that is given to you in writing before anything moves. If someone is asking you to buy a visa, walk away.

What is the Protector of Emigrants and why does it matter?

It is the Pakistani government office that registers and clears every worker leaving for overseas employment. Clearance protects your legal status, your contract and your right to a remedy if something goes wrong. Travelling for work without it strips you of all of that.

How much can I earn in Saudi Arabia?

It depends entirely on your trade, your certification, your experience and the employer. We will only quote you the figure written in the actual offer letter for the actual vacancy — never a range designed to get you to sign.

What is a GAMCA medical?

The pre-departure fitness examination carried out at an approved Gulf Health Council centre. It is mandatory for Gulf employment and the result is registered against your passport, so results cannot be shopped around.

Do I need to speak Arabic?

For most trade and site roles, no — English is enough on multinational projects and site instruction is often given in Urdu or Hindi. Basic Arabic helps in daily life and in customer-facing roles.

How long is a typical contract?

Commonly two years, renewable by agreement between you and the employer. The exact term, notice period and renewal terms are stated in your contract.

Is a trade test always required?

Not always, but skilled trades such as welding, HVAC and electrical work usually involve one, either in Pakistan or on arrival. It is in your interest — passing it is what separates a documented tradesman from a general labourer's wage.

Can I change employer after I arrive?

Transfer rules are set by the destination's labour regulations and have changed over recent years. It is not automatic, it depends on your contract and current rules, and it should never be part of your plan when you sign.
