Is the YÖS exam compulsory?
Many public universities require YÖS or an accepted equivalent such as SAT. A large number of private universities admit on academic records alone. It depends entirely on where you apply.
Can I study medicine in Turkey as a Pakistani student?
Yes, and it is a popular route. Recognition of the degree for practice in Pakistan must be verified with PMDC/PMC before you commit — that check comes first, not last.
Do I need to learn Turkish?
Not for English-taught programmes, though basic Turkish makes daily life considerably easier. Turkish-taught programmes require TÖMER certification.
How affordable is Turkey compared with Europe?
Substantially cheaper on both tuition and living costs, particularly at public universities and outside Istanbul.
Can I work while studying in Turkey?

What is a residence permit and when do I apply?
